1 Name

This instrument is the Migration (Designated Areas) Instrument 2026.

2 Commencement

This instrument commences on the day after it is registered.

3 Authority

This instrument is made in accordance with the definition of designated area under regulation 1.03 of the Migration Regulations 1994.

4 Schedules

Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

5 Definitions

In this instrument:

designated area has the meaning given in regulation 1.03 of the Regulations.

Regulations means Migration Regulations 1994.

6 Specified designated areas

For the purpose of, and in accordance with, the definition of designated area under regulation 1.03 of the Regulations, each area identified by a postcode, or State or Territory (including the entire State or entire Territory) mentioned in Column 2 of an item in the table in Schedule 1 to this instrument is specified as a designated area of the State or Territory mentioned in Column 1 of the same item.
